AUTONOMY CORPORATION PLC APPOINTS NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

CAMBRIDGE, England - 17 March 2010 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced the appointment of Jonathan Bloomer and Frank Kelly as new Non-Executive Directors.

Jonathan Bloomer has been a partner with Cerberus European Capital Advisors, LLP since 2005. He was previously Group Chief Executive of Prudential plc from March 2000 until May 2005, and Group Finance Director from January 1995. Prior to this he was a senior partner in Arthur Andersen's financial markets division based in London and the managing partner of their European Insurance Practice.

Dr Frank Kelly FRS, is Professor of the Mathematics of Systems in the Statistical Laboratory, University of Cambridge, and Master of Christ's College, Cambridge. His main research interests are in random processes, networks and optimization. Professor Kelly is the author of scores of leading mathematics publications.

Professor Kelly will take up his role on 1 May 2010. Mr Bloomer is expected to commence his role shortly thereafter. Mr Bloomer is expected to chair Autonomy's Audit Committee.

Commenting on the appointments, Robert S. Webb QC, Autonomy's Non-Executive Chairman, said today: "We are very pleased to announce today's appointments, bringing further depth and expertise to Autonomy's board. Autonomy is a company founded on fundamental research into the meaning of information, and in this regard we are pleased to welcome a mathematician of the eminence and reputation of Professor Kelly. Mr Bloomer brings extensive financial and management expertise and further industry experience. These are excellent additions to the Board with skill-sets that are highly complimentary to our other non-executive board members. We look forward to working with them."

Mr Bloomer's other current engagements include: Executive Chairman of Lucida plc; Chairman of Scottish Re, Non-Executive Director of Hargreaves Lansdown plc; and Chairman of the Advisory Panel of the Financial Institutions Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He is a Trustee and Treasurer of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Mr Bloomer previously was a member of the Financial Services Practitioner Panel of the Financial Services Authority from 2000 to 2006 (Chairman Nov 2003 - Oct 2005). He was a Member of the Board of the Geneva Association from 2001 to 2005 and a member of the board of the Association of British Insurers from 2000 to 2005. He was also a member of the Urgent Issues Task Force of the Accounting Standards Board from 1995 to 1999.

Professor Kelly served as Chief Scientific Adviser to the U.K.'s Department for Transport from 2003 to 2006. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1989. In December 2006 he was elected 37th Master of Christ's College, Cambridge. Professor Kelly currently serves as a Member of Cambridge University's Council and its Remuneration Committee. Professor Kelly joined the Editorial Board of Internet Mathematics in 2003. Professor Kelly has received numerous honours, including: Davidson Prize (1979); Guy Medal in Silver of the Royal Statistical Society (1989); Lanchester Prize of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (1991); Naylor Prize of the London Mathematical Society (1997); Honorary Doctorate of Science, Heriot-Watt University (2001); IEEE Koji Kobayashi Computers and Communications Award (2005); John von Neumann Theory Prize of INFORMS (2008); SIGMETRICS Achievement Award (2009); and the Gold Medal of the Association of European Operational Research Societies (2009).

Autonomy confirms that other than as set forth above there are no matters requiring disclosure in relation to paragraphs 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
